Golden Retriever American Flag Shirt: Small Embroidered Sitting Golden with a USA Flag on the Left Chest

This golden retriever American flag shirt is a small, detailed portrait of the breed: a golden retriever sits up straight on the left chest, its coat stitched in layers of gold, honey and brown, with soft ears, a dark nose and a feathered chest. A USA flag on a thin silver pole drapes across the dog’s chest like a bandana, adding red and white stripes and a blue field of tiny stars. It is a ready-made design on a soft, short-sleeve T-shirt: choose the color and size, add a name or icon on the sleeve if you like, and we stitch it to order. Every stitch is 100% real embroidery, stitched into the fabric rather than printed.

What is on the golden retriever American flag shirt?

The golden retriever American flag shirt has 2 parts:

• The golden: on the left chest, a sitting golden retriever in gold and brown thread, with a red, white and blue flag draped across its chest.
• The sleeve (optional): a name, initials or short word and an icon from the font and icon chart, in the font and thread color you choose, on the left or right sleeve.

Which color should you choose?

Pick a color in the options above and the photos switch to it, so you can see the design on that color before you order. The golden coat glows on cream, grey and the blues, from pale sky to deep denim, and it stays clear on muted green and charcoal. On the deep brown tone the outline softens into the fabric, and on bright red the flag’s stripes blend in while the golden stays easy to see.

How do you order your T-shirt?

To order your T-shirt, follow 4 steps:

• Choose the T-shirt color and size in the options above.
• Choose whether to add sleeve embroidery.
• If you add it, type the name or initials, then pick the icon, font, thread color and sleeve.
• Add it to your cart; we email a free design proof before we stitch.

How do you add a name or icon on the sleeve?

Sleeve embroidery is optional and goes on one short sleeve. Type a short name or your initials, such as your golden’s name or the words Golden Mom, and pick an icon, a font and a thread color from the charts in the photos, or leave the icon off. White thread is preselected because it reads best on dark shirts; pick Black or another dark thread for the light colors.

Can you wear a golden retriever 4th of July shirt all summer?

Yes. The small left chest design makes this golden retriever 4th of July shirt easy to wear well beyond the holiday: at the lake, on a road trip, on Memorial Day and Labor Day, or under an open flannel in the fall. It reads as a patriotic golden retriever shirt without shouting.

Is it a good gift for a golden retriever lover?

Yes. It suits a golden mom or dad, a family whose retriever never misses a dock jump, or a friend who brings the dog to every summer cookout. Add the dog’s name on the sleeve, and find more ideas in our golden retriever gifts.

Is there a sweatshirt version too?

No. This design comes only as a T-shirt, so the color and size options above are all for that T-shirt. For a sweatshirt, the golden retriever American flag sweatshirt is a different drawing: a black golden silhouette carrying a flag in its mouth, stitched larger in the center of the chest.

What happens after you order?

We email you a free digital design proof, and you can ask for unlimited edits. Once you approve it, we embroider your T-shirt to order and ship it from the USA; the estimated delivery date is shown on this page. For the Fourth of July or any holiday, order at least two weeks ahead.

Which size should you choose?

Each piece is made to order, so it is not eligible for size exchanges. Open the size guide on this page and compare the measurements with a T-shirt you already own before you order, and size up if you want an oversized look or are between sizes.

How should you wash an embroidered T-shirt?

To keep the embroidery bright and the color even, follow 4 steps:

• Turn the T-shirt inside out before washing.
• Wash it cold with similar colors, and use only non-chlorine bleach.
• Tumble dry low or hang it to dry.
• Skip the dry cleaner, and if you iron, iron on the reverse side, never directly on the embroidery.

Frequently asked questions

Is the golden retriever printed or embroidered?

It is embroidered. The coat is built from layers of gold and brown stitches, and the flag’s stripes and stars are stitched in thread too, so the design has a raised texture you can feel and will not crack or peel like a print.

Is there a golden retriever shirt without the flag?

Yes. The sitting golden retriever shirt has a small golden on its own, and more designs are in our golden retriever shirts.

Can the golden look like my own dog?

This golden is a ready-made design. To stitch your own dog from a photo, see our custom dog shirts, or browse more short-sleeve designs in our embroidered pet T-shirts.
