What is the Comfort Colors 1717 size chart?
The Comfort Colors 1717 size chart lists chest width, length and sleeve for sizes S to 4XL, measured on the T-shirt laid flat. The numbers follow the Comfort Colors 1717 spec sheet, as published by the distributor S&S Activewear, in inches with centimeters in brackets.
| Size | Chest width, in (cm) | Length at back, in (cm) | Sleeve from center back, in (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | 18.25 (46.4) | 26.63 (67.6) | 16.25 (41.3) |
| M | 20.25 (51.4) | 28 (71.1) | 17.75 (45.1) |
| L | 22 (55.9) | 29.38 (74.6) | 19 (48.3) |
| XL | 24 (61.0) | 30.75 (78.1) | 20.5 (52.1) |
| 2XL | 26 (66.0) | 31.63 (80.3) | 21.75 (55.2) |
| 3XL | 27.75 (70.5) | 32.5 (82.5) | 23.25 (59.1) |
| 4XL | 29.75 (75.6) | 33.5 (85.1) | 24.63 (62.6) |
Chest width is measured straight across, 1 inch below the armholes, so the chest circumference of the T-shirt is about twice the width: 36.5 inches (92.7 cm) for a size S and 44 inches (111.8 cm) for a size L.
Do Comfort Colors shirts run big or small?
Comfort Colors shirts run true to size with a relaxed cut, so they feel roomier than a slim-fit tee of the same size. Comfort Colors describes the 1717 as a relaxed fit with a seamless body and a classic-width rib collar. Size down only if you want a closer fit, and size up if you are between sizes or want it oversized.
Do Comfort Colors shirts shrink?
Comfort Colors shirts shrink very little. The tees are garment dyed, which Comfort Colors says gives them a lived-in feel and almost no shrinkage at home. The 1717 is 100% ring spun cotton, so a hot dryer can still tighten it slightly; wash it cold and tumble dry low, as our care guide for embroidered clothing explains.
How do you measure a T-shirt to find your size?
To measure a T-shirt, lay one that fits you well flat and take 3 measurements, then match them with the chart:
- Chest width: measure straight across, 1 inch below the armholes.
- Length: measure down the back, from the top of the shoulder next to the collar to the hem.
- Sleeve: measure from the center back of the collar, over the shoulder and down to the end of the sleeve.
What fabric is the Comfort Colors 1717 made of?
The Comfort Colors 1717 is a 6.1 oz/yd² (about 207 g/m²) heavyweight T-shirt made of 100% ring spun US cotton. Each tee is dyed after it is sewn, so the color can vary slightly from shirt to shirt. Comfort Colors makes the 1717 in sizes S to 4XL and 67 colors.
Can you exchange a T-shirt for another size?
No. Every piece is made to order, so it isn’t eligible for a return or exchange because of a wrongly selected size (see our Refund Policy). Please check the chart before you order, and contact us if you are not sure which size to choose.
