Which fabric and bow should you choose?

A dark-coated pet stands out on a light stripe or gingham, and a white or cream pet stands out on a mid-tone canvas such as brown. The name and paw print are always stitched in black, so they read best on light and mid-tone fabrics. Pick a bow that repeats one color of the fabric or the collar, or choose no bow for a simple look; the bows in the photos are examples, and the bow chart shows the ones you can choose.

Head and chest or full body?

Head and chest shows your pet’s face, ears and chest up close, like Max and Bailey in the photos, and it brings out the most detail in a small hoop. Full body shows the whole pet sitting or lying, like Luna the tabby cat, so pick a photo that shows the whole pet clearly. For two pets in one hoop, a larger hoop gives each face more room.

A clear, bright photo of your pet’s whole face works best: both eyes in view, taken at your pet’s eye level, without blur, heavy filters or anything covering the face.
